Driver Privacy Notice
Version 2026-09-27.1 · Revised 2026-09-26
Effective upon acceptance
The platform is provided under the business name DropFolks. Business mailing address: 52 Clementine Dr, Brampton, ON L6Y 5R7, Canada. Contact info@dropfolks.ca for questions about these terms, privacy or account access.
What we collect and why. We collect the account details you supply, including name, email, password hash, business contact information, account activity and agreement acceptance records. We use this information to provide accounts, operate the service, respond to requests, investigate misuse and maintain security. Essential session cookies keep you signed in. Accepting these notices does not enrol you in marketing.
Who can access information. Access depends on the person's role and responsibilities. Authorised administrators review applications and investigate support or security issues. Hosting and email providers process information for these services. Our current hosting is in Oregon, United States, so information may be processed outside Canada and be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction. We do not sell personal information.
Your choices. Contact info@dropfolks.ca to request access, correction, withdrawal of an application or account deletion, or to raise a privacy complaint. We may need to verify your identity. Withdrawing information needed to fulfil an order or verify a partner may prevent that service from continuing. Applicable legal rights are not waived by acknowledging this notice.
Retention and security. We retain information for the purposes described here, including handling outstanding orders, disputes, fraud prevention and applicable recordkeeping obligations. Retention depends on the type of information and those purposes; it is not an unlimited permission to keep information. Restricted backups may retain deleted information until replaced or removed. Contact us about a specific record or request. We restrict account and document access, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. Do not send passwords or payment-card information by email.
Application information. We collect your account name and email, contact phone, date of birth, residential address, city and province, licence province and class, vehicle make, model, year and colour, licence front and back images, insurance images, document names, dates of birth and expiry dates. We use these for onboarding, eligibility review, delivery coordination, security and support. Provide only requested evidence; do not upload unrelated identity, financial or medical records. Providing an account or phone number does not sign you up for marketing.
Photo reading. When you select a document photo, DropFolks privately prepares a readable image without retaining that preparation copy. Text and licence-barcode recognition then run on your device to suggest document expiry and licence class. It does not send the photo to an external recognition provider. Check the suggested details and correct errors before uploading. Recognition does not establish authenticity, current licence status or insurance coverage. Authorised reviewers compare your submitted details with the evidence.
Private review. The applicant and authorised reviewers can access uploaded documents; they are not public catalogue content. Images are processed for readable review and metadata removal. Review outcomes, reasons, evidence references and timestamps are recorded. An upload or an administrator entry is not an automated external verification. Additional screening services, if introduced, need appropriate notice and any required consent before information is sent.
Camera and location. Camera access is requested when you choose a photo feature. Selecting a driver document photo sends it to DropFolks for temporary image preparation. The document is saved to your application when you choose Upload. When you go online and grant location permission, DropFolks shares latitude, longitude, accuracy and capture timestamps with authorised dispatch operators to support dispatch and delivery operations. Updates target five seconds when a fresh position and connection are available; delivery is not guaranteed at that interval. The installed iPhone app continues sharing during an assigned active delivery when using navigation or locking the phone. Background sharing stops after the active delivery ends. Going offline stops sharing when no active delivery remains; signing out or account suspension also stops authorised uploads. A browser page shares only while visible. Force-quitting the app or disabling location access interrupts tracking. The latest online position is stored; positions during active deliveries also form part of the order journey. Delivery actions and timestamps are also recorded for fulfilment, support and accountability.
Access and retention. Contact info@dropfolks.ca to request access, correction, deletion or a privacy review. The application provides withdrawal and upload erasure; this pauses partner access and does not automatically erase account, order, review or agreement history. Backup copies are not necessarily erased immediately. Retention depends on the purpose, applicable obligations and disputes; a final category-specific retention schedule remains to be established. We do not promise a fixed deletion period that has not been implemented. Do not email passwords or full identity documents to support.
